Cheese Ball Troubleshooting

Your cheese ball is far too liquid: Once you’ve added all of the extras and thoroughly mixed them in, if the texture is more salad dressing-like than something you’d spread on a bagel, you can easily tighten it up by adding unsalted butter, one tablespoon at a time, and mixing well.

How long can a homemade cheese ball be stored?

2 weeks
Storage: Keep a cheese ball in the refrigerator for several days or up to two weeks, depending on the freshness of your ingredients. To figure out how long your cheese ball will last, look at the expiration date on the ingredients.

What’s the deal with my crumbly cheese ball?

Failure to allow the cheese ball to chill in the refrigerator. When making cheese balls, allow plenty of time for them to chill after they’ve been formed. If you skip this step, the cheese ball will lose its shape when rolled in the outer toppings or served.
