  • 2  potato / aloo   (boiled & mashed)
  • 1 chilli  (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp  ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp  coriander   (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp  pepper   (crushed)
  • 1 tsp  mixed herbs
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder / jeera powder
  • 1/2 tsp  salt
  • 2  slice bread   (white/brown)
  • 10  cubes cheese   (cheddar/mozzarella)
  • 1 cup  corn flakes   (crushed)

For The Corn Flour Batter:

  • 2 tbsp  corn flour
  • 2 tbsp  maida / plain flour
  • 1/4 tsp  pepper   (crushed)
  • 1/4 tsp  salt
  • 1/4 cup  water


  • To begin, place 2 potatoes in a large mixing bowl. Make sure to boil the potatoes and mash them until smooth.
  • Also add 1 chilli, 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste, 2 tablespoons coriander, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, 1 tablespoon mixed herbs, 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Moreover, tear 2 bread slices. To avoid lumps, trim the sides. Alternatively, breadcrumbs can be used.
  • Mix and mash thoroughly, incorporating all of the spices.
  • Also, if the dough is still moist, add more slices of bread. The addition of bread prevents the cheese balls from breaking.
  • Create a soft, nonsticky dough set aside
  • 2 tbsp corn flour, 2 tbsp maida, 1/4 tsp pepper, and 1/4 tsp salt in a small bowl

  • Now, pinch a ball-sized aloo mixture and slightly flatten it.
  • In the centre, place a cubed sized cheese. Use cheddar cheese or any other type of cheese of your choice.
  • Bring the edges together and stuff the cheese thoroughly.
  • Make a smooth ball without any cracks. Otherwise, there's a chance the cheese will ooze out.
  • Now, dip into the corn flour batter and coat thoroughly.
  • Roll in crushed cornflakes or breadcrumbs to cover evenly. You can freeze in a ziplock bag for up to a month and then fry/bake as needed.
  • Fry in hot oil for 15-18 minutes or bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 15-18 minutes.
  • Occasionally stir without breaking the cheese balls

  • Drain the balls on kitchen paper to absorb any excess oil.
