- 1/2 cup fada / daliya / broken wheat
- 1/4 cup moong dal
- water for soaking

- 2 tbsp ghee / clarified butter
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp cumin / jeera
- pinch hing / asafoetida
- 1 dried red chilli
- few curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 3/4 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 carrot (chopped)
- 1/2 potato (chopped)
- 2 tbsp peas / matar
- 1 tomato (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp ginger paste
- 3 cups water
- 2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
- To begin, combine 1/2 cup daliya and 1/4 cup moong dal in a large mixing bowl.
- Soak for 10 minutes in enough water.
- 2 tbsp ghee, 1 tsp mustard, 1 tsp cumin, pinch hing, 1 dried red chilli, and a few curry leaves sputter in a pressure cooker.
- Drain the soaked daliya-moong dal and add it to the tempering.
- Cook for 2 minutes, or until aromatic.
