Vegan options: The veggie patties in this burger recipe are vegan and packed with delicious, healthy vegetables. By using vegan mayonnaise, you can easily make the mayonnaise dressing dairy-free. When toasting the buns for a completely vegan burger, use oil instead of butter.

Combine vegetables: This veggie patty recipe is highly adaptable, and you can easily adapt it to whatever vegetables you have on hand. In a burger recipe, carrots, green peas, cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes, pumpkin, beets, sweet potatoes, spinach, sweet corn, and mushrooms are all excellent choices

Toppings: For a cheesy burger, try adding some shredded cheese or a slice of cheese. Pickled gherkins, pickled beets or onions, jalapeos, guacamole, salsa, grated carrots, tomato ketchup or sauce, tzatziki, hummus, and mustard sauce can also be added

Make ahead: The veggie patties can be made up to a day ahead of time and refrigerated. Simply fry them before assembling. Freezing works well for these patties as well. For a couple of weeks, shape them and store them in an airtight freezer safe container. The mayonnaise dressing sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week

Binding and breading: Lightly roasted chickpea flour, rice flour, all-purpose flour, quinoa flour, oats, and almond flour can be used to bind the patties. Crushed oats, corn flakes, semolina (sooji or rava), and vermicelli are some breading options.

Baking: Simply place the patties on a baking sheet to bake. Apply some oil all over. Bake until golden and crisp in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit). Preheat the oven to 180°C for 15 minutes (356 degrees Fahrenheit). Halfway through baking, flip the pan.

Suggestions for Serving

  • After assembling your veggie burgers, serve them immediately with tomato ketchup, mustard sauce, and French fries or potato wedges.
  • If you don’t have tomatoes and cucumbers on hand, sliced avocado or Guacamole works well as a substitute. Alternatively, you can add or substitute grated carrots or Coleslaw as a veggie topping.
  • These veggie burgers make excellent snacks, but they’re also filling enough to serve as a tasty lunch. This recipe yields four regular-sized veggie burgers.
