Sweet Lassi Recipe

Sweet Lassi Recipe, a creamy, sweetened, and chilled yogurt-based beverage from Punjabi cuisine, is a popular drink in North India. It is typically served as a cooling beverage after a meal or in the afternoon during hot summer days. There are many different types of lassi available nowadays, such as strawberry lassi, rose lassi, mango lassi, plain lassi, and so on, but the two main types are SWEET and SALTY. In this recipe, we make sweet lassi by first whisking the curd until smooth, then adding sugar for sweetness and cardamom for flavour. Finally, depending on personal preference, water or milk is added to dilute it slightly.

Because curd is the main ingredient in lassi, the entire flavour is dependent on it. To make the perfect lassi, use homemade curd made from full fat milk that does not taste sour. Follow the recipe with step-by-step photos below to make this delectable beverage at home, and don’t forget to read the tips before you start.

  • For a more flavorful result, use homemade curd.
  • To make the lassi, use a mathani or a wired whisk (not an electric one) for the best flavour.

  • For a creamy lassi, use full fat curd (whole milk yoghurt).
  • To make it easier to dissolve the sugar, use powdered sugar.
